The scarlet wine of blood in Saturday #SeductiveStuds bloghop

Saturday Seductive Studs

Every Saturday several m/m fiction writers meet to share snippets of their writing. Each participating author posts a short excerpt from either a published book or work in progress.

Just yesterday I received a commissioned painting of Belial and Adhemar together, and, well, it was clear that my today’s excerpt must be from In Blue Poppy Fields again :) If you missed my post last week: it is  a gay erotic paranormal fantasy novel that will be published in the first quarter of this year. Enjoy reading.

Adhemar with BelialWhat?! Adhemar understood why the demon had let him drink last time. That was in battling and in pleasure. And it had been a way to control him. But now… now they didn’t fight and didn’t indulge in physical delights. So, why would Belial offer such a thing? The demon’s hand pulled him closer and he couldn’t resist. He smelled his blood. The most delicious of fragrances. Pulsing with life. More than mortal blood ever could. He wanted the heady scarlet wine, he longed for the sap of eternity and he took it, letting all doubts and questions go. Too hungry to revel in any preliminaries, Adhemar plunged his fangs straight into Belial’s vein and his eyes closed under a flooding assault of pleasure. The hot essence filled his mouth, found its way down his throat and spilled into his veins. Coursing through his body, it drew the lingering drug away. The pokers withdrew from his temples and his skin tingled in need for the demon’s touch. Pressing himself against Belial’s body, he let him feel the power of his desire, growing with every draught he swallowed. One of his thirsts was receding slowly and the other was rising in a tidal wave.

I think you know what followed :) . If you’d like to read the rest of the scene, don’t miss the novel itself. Its exact release date will be revealed on my blog soon.

And if you wonder about the name of the talented artist who painted their portrait, it’s Nagasaki Akira. Pay a visit to her dA gallery, you’ll find there plenty of amazing paintings.
